Aligarh : AMU Student Shot Dead!

I hope the subject tells it all, but we seriously need to discuss this. We have a lot of our members in Aligarh getting almost 60-70% of our posts from there. It concerns me a lot, primarily because he was a student and moreover he was an Indian. I have a few conspiracy theories in my mind but I will wait for sometime for inputs from our members in Aligarh to discuss them with all.

So this student that I talked about yesterday was named Kausar Mazhar. A very good person at heart from what I am told by people that I know, he was brutally shot by an unidentified person. I am looking forward to Mohsin replying on this as he can have some solid information on the shooting. He suer could have been saved if it hadn't taken 30 minutes to get the poor guy to the hospital. Please pitch in people. This is something that could prove to be a reality for you and me. We need to discuss this thoroughly.

Ya,his name was Kausar Salik Mazhar.He was shot inside the premises of the chemical engg. department here.I went there today and there are still stains of blood visible.There are a few drops here and there that fell when he was trying to run after being shot and then he hit a pillar in the corridor that leads to the NL section and fell down unconscious.
Kausar bhai was really a gem of a person...he was among the most senior members of our hostel and one who was respected by all.Such was his repute that he was called upon to sort out any fights or misunderstandings among different groups here.I did know him personally and only 3 days before his death,we were in the comon room and he was showing me some of the features of his N90 cell phone.His murder really came as a shock to the entire student fraternity,aligs in particular.
May Allah rest his soul in peace.Ameen

Good to hear the take of an Aligarian on the issue. I know that your exams have been postponed including other faculties but can you tell me how is the situation like, primarily speaking is there any movement in the investigations or have they gone cold?

Today,we had a peace march from the Maulana Azad library which culminated in a dharna in front of the registrar office...the main demands were a CBI probe in the case,postponement of exams and allowing the police to raid specific locations inside the university...there,the vice-chancellor assured us that steps will be taken....the VC also recommended a CBI probe to the SP who has forwarded the recommendation to the State govt.The steps of the state govt. are awaited...if they don't forward the CBI probe recommendation to the Centre till tomorrow morning or take some other strong action,we intend to sit on a dharna again until further steps are taken.
The dharna was also covered by the print and the electronic media and all rumours that were doing the rounds have been dispelled....that's the news till now,will keep you all updated on the proceedings.

Latest update:-
No further action by the state govt..Some of the senior students had a telephonic conversation with Mr.Shivraj Patil through some sources and he assured them that appropriate action will be taken once the matter reaches his desk....But the matter has not yet been forwarded by the state govt..Against this lack of action,all of us sat on a dharna again today.The good thing was that members of the AMU administration also sat with us in the dharna,including the newly appointed proctor.Some members of the AMU Old boys' association,who are in constant talks with the Govt. also came to console us.It has been decided that a delegate of students will leave for Lucknow and Delhi tomorrow to talk to higher authorities....for the time being,the dharna is being observed indefinitely till some action is taken...I was also there from 10:00 to 7:00 today...will join again at night.
Let's hope some action is taken soon and these efforts don't go in vain.Ameen

Great Attitude dear. It goes on to show that there still are good people out there in the world. I am not trying to depress you people, but do not bank upon this useless SP Government. They will never listen to you as they know it all to well that you have voted for them. But in any case, keep going folks and a very Good Job indeed!

Kausar Bhai was a brother to me. I cudnt stop myself n ran from there.
I was feeling very angry n disturbed.
I cudnt stay there, every moment i remmbr the time I had paasd with him.
