The songs are great..........unorthodox and yet very pleasing to the ears.A R Rehman has indeed done it again(for the nth time ,ofcourse!).He keeps delivering music, the kind that the public has never ever heard before.

So, finally I am (a bit) free from my hectic tour
and can express my accolades for this heart soothing tracks of Jaane Tu..
The first song Kabhie Kabhie Aditi..
Brilliant song, indeed. Maan gaye Javed saab, Javed Akhtar, after quite long, has given a simple and beautiful lyrics that says it all.
Just listen to this song, in peace, so beautiful, both lyrically and the slow and mesmerizing music.

Kabhi Kabhi Aditi..
Kabhi kabhi aditi zindagi mein yuhi koi apna lagta hai,
Kabhi kabhi aditi wo bichad jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai,
Aise mein koi kaise apne aasuon ko behne se roke?
Aur kaise koi soch le everything’s gonna be ok?
Kabhi kabhi to lage zindagi mein rahi naa khushi aur naa mazaa,
Kabhi kabhi to lage har din mushkil aur har pal ek sazaa,
Aise mein koi kaise muskuraye, kaise hass de khush hoke?
Aur kaise koi soch le everything gonna be ok?
Soch zara jaane jaa tujhko hum kitna chahte hai,
Rote hai hum bhi agar teri aankhon mein aasu aate hai,
Gaana to aata nahi hai magar phir bhi hum gaate hai,
Ki aditi maan kabhi , kabhi saare jahan mein andhera hota hai,
Lekin raat ke baad hi to savera hota hai..
Kabhi kabhi aditi zindagi mein yuhi koi apna lagta hai,
Kabhi kabhi aditi wo bichad jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai,
Hey aditi hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de tu zara,
Nahi to bass thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda muskura..
Tu khush hai to lage ki jahan mein chayee hai khushi,
Sooraj nikle badlon se,aur baaten zindagi,
Sun to zara madhosh hawa tujhse kehne lagi,
Ki aditi wo jo bichadte hai ek naa ek din phir mil jaate,
Aditi, jaane tu ya jaane naa phool phir khil jaate hai..
Kabhi kabhi aditi zindagi mein yuhi koi apna lagta hai,
Kabhi kabhi aditi wo bichad jaaye to ek sapna lagta hai,
Hey aditi hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de tu zara,
Nahi to bass thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda muskura..
Hey aditi hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de tu zara,
Nahi to bass thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda muskura..
Hey aditi hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de, hass de tu zara,
Nahi to bass thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda thoda muskura..

Quote:
There is a girl and there is a boy. Both are extremely different yet are extremely close to each other. Girl is rich, tongue-in-cheek, dominant and aggressive while the boy has had a middle class upbringing and is submissive, soft-spoken and calm. Opposites attract and so do they but not as lovers, as friends! So when do they realize its love?
Abbas Tyrewala definitely comes up with a winner in the form of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He tells us an ordinary love story, whose theme is Pyaar Dosti Hai (Love is friendship)… a la Kuch Kuch Hota Hai… however presents it in a much mature fashion than its glorious predecessor. He tackles this confused romantic comedy with élan and impresses you with his subtlety in terms of direction. Not a single scene, actor is overly dramatic. The characters are real, identifiable and extremely cute!
Jai (Imran) and Aditi (Genelia) are ‘best friends’ and are extremely possessive of each other but are definitely not in love. They long for each other’s company and still wonder why close friends and parents believe that they are in love! After giving a deep thought both realize its high time they find themselves a special someone too since one cant spend a lifetime with a best friend! However when they do find their respective ‘special someone’ they realize love is not about finding a perfect someone, it’s about feeling perfectly happy with an imperfect partner.
The film is definitely not flawless. There are rough cuts here and there, especially in terms of editing. The film doesn’t have a great beginning but it picks up as it nears the interval, however again slows down in the climax! The pace keeps fluctuating, which at times distracts you, and makes you fidget in your seat. The story too has nothing new to offer.
It is the casting of the film that saves it from being an average just another youth film.
Abbas’s wife Pakhi deserves a standing ovation for her fantastic casting, as it is the choice of actors in the film that makes it so likeable! All the youngsters are understated, thus highly effective. Rotlu, Bombs, Jiggy, Mau (Genelia) and Ratz (Imran)… the nicknames of the characters make you doubt their likeability initially but as the film progresses, each character grows on you and you start becoming a part of the chirpy cute – just out of college gang!
Imran gets a tailor made role for him, as his petite personality and casual attitude makes him fit the bill of Jai perfectly. He struggles with his expressions initially as gets stuck with one ‘surprised raised eye brows’ expression but gets better later on. Genelia overshadows Imran big time. She looks extremely fresh and lights up the screen with her presence. Prateik Babbar, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak come up with brilliant performances and provide you with all the light moments in the film. Sohail and Arbaaz Khan too tickle your funny bone with their cameos. Imran’s girlfriend Avantika too makes a special appearance in the film. Watch out for her in a disco sitting next to Imran.
Fashion designer Ashley Rebello deserves a special mention as he dresses Imran and Genelia as per their age and makes them look flawless.
Music is youthful, foot tapping and energetic. Kauddos to AR Rahman yet again.
JTYJN definitely deserves a watch… and not just for Imran.

I didn't expect to be the last one to post on this topic. Actually, it wasn't planned this way. My post was scheduled to be here long long ago but it couldn't happen that way! And I can go on endlessly about this movie. And now, I don't understand from where I should start! I have been tracking the movie from a long time now. Infact, when I watched its very first trailor, I could get hold of just a part of it but strange enough, I loved the song "Kabhi Kabhi Aditi" in the very first go! I had no clue back then that it was an Aamir Khan production and that it starred his nephew, Imran. Despite that, I could still feel a connection!
Ever since, its songs have gone to become permanents on my playlist, especially the track "Pappu can't dance".
Yesterday, after its release, I started surfing the net for the movies's opening reviews. And quite expectedly, I found positive reviews from critics like Taran Adarsh and Mayank Shekhar. And quite expectedly again, both of them mauled its competitor, Love Story 2050, which is supposed to be a 'different' Sci-Fi movie. Jaane Tu.. has been welcomed warmly by audiences. The movie has been appreciated by fellow actors of the industry as well. Infact, Amitabh Bachchan, impressed by the perfection in the movie, has himself shown his interest in working with Aamir Khan in the future. Let's see when it happens!

I just cannot stop myself from writing about the music in detail. First of all, I would like to correct a little mistake made by Mohsin. The lyrics in the movie have been done by Abbas Tyrewala, who has done this for quite a few films before. Moreover, he has also written the script for some popular movies like Main Hoon Na, Salaam Namaste, Welcome and Maqbool. Now, with Jaane Tu..., he has donned the director's cap too. What is to be noted is that the songs he wrote usually used slang. But this time, he has written songs which are not only meaningful but also touch the heart. Rehman's music complements the lyrics beautifully. It takes us to a whole new world completely! It is absolutely magical!
Waiting eagerly to watch the movie. Hope it happens soon!

Well,so that's it!I had been thinking that although the songs are quite meaningful and beautifully done, they are not characteristically Javed saab's,that is,they lack the typical urdu words javed saab's songs are strewn with and they also lack his rhyming-patterning style.
Anyways, that takes away nothing from the fact that they are quite peppy, and mood-uplifting.Great work indeed!
