GTalk Applet Scrapped

I haven't been able to see the GTalk Applet that one sees when you log into your account built into your browser itself. I am using Opera. Has anyone had the same problem. Tell me so that I can ask Google if you too are having the same problem!

The same old problem. I do think they have indeed scrapped it. By the way is it working for you?

Ok here is how you can do it......

Download the latest version of Opera 9

After installing the browser, goto GMail


Now select from the menu Tools -> Quick Preferences -> Site Preferences.
Select the Network tab and choose Mask as Mozilla and press the OK button.


Now refresh the GMail page and the GTalk should appear. This setting will be saved so that you don’t have to change it each time you visit GMail.

Thanks for that but I have quite a few accounts which I do open in Opera itself and the applet worked in them.

Here's what the problem is I had selected the option of standard without chat! How stupid of me. Anyways thanks for the help and it might turn out to be really important advice for others.
