OSO number-42 'stars' but where's AK?

The latest Bollywood buzz doing the rounds in the media is about a star-studded item number in the yet-to-be released movie, Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan and starring King Khan. It's being called as the Mother of all Item Numbers. The long list of the actors featuring in the song is as follows:

I, personally feel that the song doesn't deserve that attention because these actors aren't difficult to afford! More than half of these actors are Bollywood flops and are literally out of work. If Farah Khan would have managed to get the 'baap' of all actors, Aamir Khan to do this guest appearance(which is much more than impossible), i wouldn't have bothered about the media hype being created. But with all these duds in the song and the ongoing trend of having multi-starrer songs, i feel that all the hype surrounding this one song is absolutely unnecessary!

I heard about that and I think the media hype is indeed uncalled for.I think that the list has quite a few hit actors in it but for someone like Farah Khan,who is in the industry for a long time,it's not very difficult to have them all for a guest appearance in an item number.Regarding Amir Khan,I think he won't be doing an item number for anyone whosoever it may be...he is not one to engage in such meaningless things at all.

It's more about the great comraderie shared by Farah Khan and SRK that has prevented Aamir Khan to be present in the video (not that he would be there otherwise). But, it's worth looking at the fact that SRK, who's supposed to be the King Khan and Aamir Khan (who, according to me, deserves the title more) are not the best of friends and are openly in fierce competition with each other. SRK would never want him to be cast alongside him, and the director(Farah Khan) would never want to anger the producer(SRK) by going against his will. As for the other actors gracing the video, more than Farah, it must be the star power of SRK that would have attracted them to share the screen space with him.

As for Aamir Khan, he would never be a part of a 'crowd' anyway. He has been popular for doing different stuff and he should continue that trend!

Yeah,might be so that King Khan would not like to be cast alongside Aamir.....I won't comment because I am quite a fan of SRK!!But,one thing's for sure...Aamir would never like to be cast in a crowd...he's doing a wonderful job doing off-beat films and he should continue(he will!) because there are hardly any actors who take his route to success.

hmmm..indeed a very interesting observation rooma..but frankly i feel the sole purpose of this multi-starrer song was to create a hullabaloo and going by the above posts it quite clearly did..love it or hate it,u cant ignore it! casting all these actors here makes sense since its a 'film-in-a-film' ..and what better way to make it look convincing enough than to have,as u call it, a 'Star-studded' item number.

Well, i don't think that just 'not being able to ignore it' is satisfactory for the makers of the song. I mean, how many of us would like to be known for a bad reason? There's a huge difference between loving the song and loathing it!

Besides what difference does it make whether it's a film or a film-in-a-film; the song still remains an item number where the actors play themselves - the 'stars'! But i would really like to add that there are so many of them in that song who are just wannabe stars and the song really lets them live those few moments of glory by portraying them as actual hotshots!

It would have been a great song has there been Amir in the song as others mentioned. As they haven't managed to get him on board it is time for Mr. '6 pack Useless' Khan to stop jumping around and start buying awards as his doom seems to inevitable now!

Now,now.....I love Aamir too but I can't stand someone talking about King Khan in this manner.Aamir is hugely mature but you got to admit that SRK is among the best entertainers in the industry.Now,getting a 6-pack abs doesn't mean he can't act,ok!Praise Aamir as much as you can...I will chip in as well....but you dare not make fun of SRK....otherwise we may come to blows here!!

If Shahrukh is called the king then Aamir is known as the Ace.

I would further like to drag your attention towards the lobby in the bollywood, befooling the viewers. It includes Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Shahrukh, Rani, Kajol, Farah, Sajid, Preity Zinta, Javed Akhtar, etc etc...
They are making films LOW in quality and only entertaining. ONLY.
They are filling up their pockets and nothing else. What does Farah says when she was asked "Why shud one watch OSO?"
" Cuz it has Shahrukh.. !"

How shameful !
These money oriented directors and producers are threats to the Bollywood. We are lagging far behind Hollywood, becoz we have lots of movies but not a handful of GOOD movies.

I know these people are befooling viewers but at least they do have the brains to befool a majority!And i agree that they make films that are only entertaining,nothing else...but tell me one thing,what do you go to a movie for??It's not that only films with a message are good.....if it has one,so good.
Coming to Hollywood,I don't think it's far ahead.We have this misconception because we watch only good ones.I agree that the best movies of Hollywood are far better than ours but there are bad ones as well which are far worse than ours.
I agree that Aamir is a great actor,the best one actually....but if SRK sells,he has got to have something!

It reminds me of an incident when i had asked my uncle, who happens to be a great fan of SRK, as to why the actor has so many followers. His reply was that if a person neither has great looks nor knows how to act but has still managed to make it big in a field like Bollywood, he is bound to have something. Well, this really forces me to think:even real dedicated fans of SRK don't know what he actually has! Strange, isn't it??

That's because we Indians think from the heart....we never have any reason why we like someone and why we don't!We somehow do find a connect with some people...I don't know about you people but sometimes,just on seeing a person,I have a feeling that I am going to connect with him instantly.Don't you think it happens??
I think the case with SRK is the same......he doesn't have great looks,he even overacts at times,but somehow we do like what we see!I think nothing else can explain this.

We, Indians, have actually begun to think with our brains; that's the reason why movies with messages have created waves in the recent history, be it Rang De Basanti or Lage Raho Munnabhai or Chak De India. There have been other hits too but compared to these movies, they have done average business. Indian audiences are now appreciating meaningful cinema which has, consequently, rendered many magnum opus movies to be duds at the BO. Next week releases, Saawariya and OSO, both fall in the latter category. Let's see what fate has in store for them!

Exactly,the fate of these upcoming movies would make an interesting observation....what I am waiting for is 'Taare Zameen Par'!The promos of the movie suggest it is going to take Aamir to greater heights...he certainly has a penchant of coming up with new and appealing things!!

I am in a hurry, as always !! But I would like to say that, Taare Zameen Par is Gona will be very good movie, I dont care what its fate is on the box office !
And I think Shahrukh acts tooooooooo good. He is one of the best actor I have seen.
