An accident further down the field called for a safety car to be deployed and, despite strong defence on the restart he was unable to hold off the KERS-equipped Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen. Giancarlo then matched Kimi’s lap times lap after lap until they pitted on exactly the same lap (lap 14). Rejoining just metres from Kimi, Giancarlo continued to shadow the Ferrari until his second stop, which again came on the same lap (lap 31). Giancarlo was generally quicker than the Ferrari but Kimi’s use of KERS kept him ahead, leaving Giancarlo just 0.939secs away from scoring an unprecedented win. Adrian Sutil had started from 11th position but was unfortunately a victim of a start line accident that cost him his front wing. The German was forced to pit and rejoined far down the field. A strategy adjustment to a one-stopper gave him opportunity to move to 9th position, pulling off some spectacular overtaking maneouvres in the process. All economies have been affected by the crisis, but a combination of policy responses and strong fundamentals has given some countries, especially some emerging market economies, a relative edge. These same strengths could lead the countries I highlight below to perform better as the global recovery begins, even if their growth rates remain well below 2003-07 trends. What do these countries have in common? One major theme is that they tended to have lower financial vulnerabilities due to more restrictive regulation and less developed financial markets, as well as larger and stronger domestic markets that sustained domestic demand. Moreover, they had the resources to engage in countercyclical fiscal and monetary policies, actions that were not possible in past crises. In contrast, countries that borrowed heavily to finance domestic consumption in the days of easy money are now facing sharp economic contractions. This correlation suggests that RNA structure modulates ribosome elongation to promote native protein folding. Some simple genome elements previously shown to be important, including the ribosomal gag-pol frameshift stem-loop, are components of larger RNA motifs. We also identify organizational principles for unstructured RNA regions, including splice site acceptors and hypervariable regions. Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs said Schmidt would have had to recuse himself from large portions of the company's board meetings. That's because Google Inc. is entering more of Apple's core businesses, the Cupertino, Calif.-based computer and gadget maker said. Jobs said the decision was mutual. The decision comes a few months after Schmidt expressed confidence that a government inquiry into his role on Apple's board won't find any evidence that the ties between the two companies throttle competition in mobile phones and elsewhere. He said in May, in a media session ahead of Google's annual shareholder meeting, that he hasn't considered stepping down as an Apple director because he doesn't view the company as a "primary competitor." The seven-time world champion will return to the pit lane for the first time since retiring in 2006. Schumacher, Formula One's most successful driver with 91 wins, is still a consultant to the Italian team with whom he won five titles and remains in good physical condition, working out regularly. "Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro intends to put Michael Schumacher in Felipe Massa's car until the Brazilian driver will be able to race again," Ferrari confirmed in a statement. The 22-year-old adds the 200m title and record to the 400m title and world best he achieved on Monday. Phelps, who touched home in 1:43.22, suffered his first major individual loss in four years. That occurred at the 2005 World Championships when Ian Crocker beat him in the final of the 100m butterfly. The 24-year-old, who won eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, said fatigue cost him in the last part of the race. "I'm a little disappointed that I kind of got tired in the last 20m, 30m of that race," said the American, who picked himself up after the defeat to qualify second fastest for Wednesday's 200m butterfly. The Brazilian hit a tyre wall after a spring from Rubens Barrichello's car flew up and hit his helmet. Massa was woken on Sunday for a brain scan that produced reassuring results. "It brought the result that we had expected concerning an injury of this type," said doctor in chief Peter Bazso at Budapest's AEK military hospital. Massa's father, mother and pregnant wife have flown in to Hungary from Brazil, and the doctor added that the driver remained in intensive care and in an "acute phase" of treatment.
